Orange officers investigate homicide of elderly man

Police are investigating the homicide of a 74-year-old Orange resident who was found stabbed and mortally wounded at the Alexander Homes Apartments at 2049 Fourth St. on Aug. 18 at 8:22 p.m.

According to a news release from the Orange Police Department, officers responded to the apartment complex after dispatch received a call reporting a stabbing victim at the location. They arrived at the scene minutes after the initial call, at 8:26 p.m., and located the elderly resident with apparent stab wounds lying in the grass at the complex.  

Orange Fire Department first responders and Acadian EMTs treated the man at the scene, then transported him via ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he later died from his injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing by the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
