Orange Police respond to shots fired
Police are investigating an aggravated assault after a report of gunfire led them to the scene of a shootout in the Arthur Robinson housing complex in the 1300 block of 5th Street in Orange on Tuesday night.
According to a news release from the Orange Police Department, officers were dispatched to the housing complex at approximately 9:53 p.m. on May 28 in reference to shots being fired. Upon arrival at the scene, officers received reports that "several black males" were involved in a disturbance that resulted in multiple shots fired. At least one man was injured, sustaining a bullet wound to his upper leg. The man was transported to Baptist Hospital in Orange for treatment. Police said the injury does not appear to be life-threatening. Investigators recovered a handgun and several spent and live casings from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
