Orange Police seize 70-plus bags of bath salts, make two arrests

Two men were arrested and more than 70 bags of bath salts seized in a drug raid in Orange on Thursday, Nov. 7.

According to a news release from the Orange Police Department, at 4 p.m. on the 7th, officers from OPD's narcotics division executed a search warrant at the Smart Stop located at 811 Strickland Dr. in Orange in reference to reports that employees there were selling bath salts. Officers reportedly recovered over 70 bags of bath salts, a .25 caliber pistol and several thousands in cash. The two employees on-duty at the time of the raid, 37-year-old Muhammad Faisal and 31-year-old Miguel Velasquez, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony.
