Orange resident arrested for posession of crack cocaine
One man was arrested Sunday afternoon, after police found crack cocaine in a matchbox during a traffic stop in Orange.
According to a report from the Orange Police Department, officers arrested 21-year-old Romon Stephen Jones of Orange for felony three possession of a controlled substance when they approached him at the Gulf convenience store located at 333 Lutcher Ave. for a traffic violation. Officer Jason Laughlin reported Jones was "very nervous" and "visibly shaking" when he was approached by police. Jones gave officers consent to search his vehicle. As he exited the car, Jones grabbed a small matchbox, a container commonly used to store narcotics, according to the report.
