Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at approximately 10:13 p.m., the Port Arthur Police Department received a call from a 46-year-old female reporting she had been shot.

According to PAPD press release, initially the female did not know her exact location, but was able to give enough information to lead officers to find her near the 1800 block of W. Highway 73. She was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Preliminary investigations revealed the female had been a passenger in a vehicle involved in an accident at that location earlier. No other occupants were found at the accident site; however, investigators were able to locate two individuals believed to be riding in the vehicle when the accident occurred a short time later.

One of those individuals, 26-year-old Terence Zachary Killingsworth from Port Arthur, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police came to believe he shot the female after the accident.

The investigation is ongoing and there are no further details at this time.
