Pinehurst PD welcomes new officer

The City of Pinehurst welcomed a new officer to the ranks recently. New Pinehurst Police Officer Jocelyn Trussell, 30, of Orange was sworn in by Chief Fred Hanauer III on Friday, July 12.

Trussell graduated from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in 2001 and from LIT Regional Police Academy in 2011. She and her husband John have two children, Jaden and Jude. John had the honor of pinning his wife's badge onto her uniform as part of the swearing-in ceremony. Trussell's family, including her mother and grandmother, attended the event along with several police department employees, City Administrator Joe Parkhurst and Mayor Pete Runnels.
