Police arrest 49 in Beaumont warrant sweep

Officers with the Beaumont Police Department conducting a warrant sweep through the city June 22 arrested a total of 49 people for outstanding city warrants Wednesday, Sgt. Cody Guedry reports.

According to Guedry, police are offering citizens with outstanding warrants the opportunity to come in and pay prior to being arrested. This will save people from the embarrassment and the inconvenience that could follow an arrest. A future warrant sweep is already in the planning stage, and the BPD is informing the public in advance so they have the opportunity to take care of any city tickets they may have.

To determine if there is an outstanding warrant, individuals charged with an offense may call (409) 980-7200.

Individuals with outstanding warrants in the City of Beaumont have a number of options for paying their fines:

• IN PERSON Beaumont Municipal Court at 700 Orleans Beaumont Texas 77701 Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Individuals do not have to present their original citation; however, the person appearing before the court must be the individual charged with the violation. Payments are accepted by cash, debit card, credit card, or money order. There is also a night drop box located on the Forsythe side of the building.
