Police arrest four allegedly involved in theft ring

Beaumont police arrested four suspects on charges of felony theft and engaging in organized criminal activity for allegedly stealing trailers and lawn equipment from a local business, reports Officer Haley Walters.

According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department (BPD), at close to midnight Sept. 24, officers responded to the 800 block of Grant Street in reference to an auto recovery. The investigation revealed that Eddie Stephens, Toiy Jackson, Kendale Henton and Darrell Durousseau were in possession of two stolen utility trailers and two lawnmowers, BPD's Walters stated in the release. After the investigation was complete, officers transported Stephens, Jackson, Henton and Durousseau to the Jefferson County Jail. The men were each charged with two counts of felony theft, one count of engaging in organized criminal activity and one count of misdemeanor theft.

The Auto Theft Task Force is continuing the investigation.
