Police arrest Port Arthur murder suspect

Police arrested a Port Arthur man for murder following a shooting at Avery Trace Apartments, reports the Port Arthur Police Department.

According to a news release, Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) detectives placed 20-year-old Walter Stevens Jones into custody today for the murder of 25-year-old Joseph Boudreaux, who was shot multiple times at the apartment complex March 16 at about 12:30 p.m. Boudreaux later died from his injuries.

Investigators identified and located several witnesses present during the murder, PAPD reports. Witnesses identified Jones as the shooter. An arrest warrant was issued, and Jones was taken into custody without incident. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
