Police deploy 'stop sticks' to stall fleeing suspect

Police in Beaumont deployed "stop sticks" when a suspect fled from them in his vehicle following a disturbance at a local bar, reports Officer Haley Morrow. 

According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, officers responded to Thirsty's bar at 229 N. Dowlen Rd. at 11:40 p.m. March 18 in reference to a disturbance. As they arrived, the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Sedric Williams of Beaumont, fled the scene in a vehicle. As Williams continued to flee from police, two officers deployed stop sticks, which safely brought the vehicle to a rest. T

Williams was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail for evading in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
