Police find PCP and ecstasy in Orange

Narcotics detectives with the Orange Police Department arrested a local man after discovering ecstasy, PCP and marijuana during the execution of a search warrant in the 300 block of Decatur on May 12, reports Sgt. Jason Laughlin.

According to Laughlin's report, 28-year-old Michael Anthony Buchanan of Orange was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail on second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance for the ecstasy, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance for the PCP and possession of marijuana.

A special report from The Examiner two weeks ago exposed a growing trend of ecstasy use in Southeast Texas. Vidor Police Department Chief Rod Carroll said, while his experience has shown that youth are the primary users of ecstasy, more and more drug users are telling him their drug of choice is "anything they can find." And, as previously reported, ecstasy is not the only drug being shipped into the U.S. from overseas. Other synthetic substances, like synthetic marijuana/Kush and PCP, are also being mailed to consumers right here in Southeast Texas.
