Police investigate Beaumont homicide

Police in Beaumont are investigating and searching for suspects in a fatal shooting that occurred in the 4600 block of Maddox Street in Beaumont on June 2, Beaumont Police Department Officer Tony Harding reported in a news release. 

According to Harding, BPD patrol officers responded to Maddox Street in South Park in reference to call reporting a suspicious vehicle early Thursday morning, just before 1:00 a.m. While officers were en route to the location, the complainant reported hearing multiple gunshots.

As officers arrived in the area, they discovered a vehicle parked in the ditch. Inside the vehicle was a man who appeared to have been shot several times, Harding reported. After EMS arrived, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and "a very deliberate investigation began," Harding stated.
