Police investigate overnight shooting in Beaumont

Police in Beaumont are searching for the suspect in an overnight shooting that left one man injured and in critical condition at a local hospital, reports Officer Haley Morrow of the Beaumont Police Department (BPD). 

According to a news release from Morrow, officers responded to the area around Harrison and Center in Beaumont in reference to a "shots fired" call at 11:16 p.m. on Dec. 20. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a black male laying in a grassy area suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his critical injuries.

Detectives are investigating the shooting. The preliminary investigation reportedly reveals a possible white male suspect driving an older model green Ford Dually, possibly F-250 or F-350, with a yellow light bar on top of the truck.
