Police investigate Port Arthur hit-and-run

Police in Port Arthur are investigating a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian in critical condition at a local hospital, reports the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).

According to a news release from PAPD, officers responded to the 1200 block of Trinity Avenue at 11:13 p.m. on Sept. 3 in reference to a man lying in the street. Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers found a 26-year-old male victim, who had apparently been struck by a motor vehicle. The man was transported by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont, where is was listed in critical condition at the time of this report. 

The vehicle that struck the man left the scene. Police ask that anyone with information about the accident contact the PAPD at (409) 983-8624.
