Police investigate shooting in Orange

Police are investigating a shooting in Orange that injured one person but, according to the Orange Police Department (OPD), the victim does not wish to press charges and would not help identify the shooter. 

According to a news release from OPD Capt. Charlie Stephenson, officers responded to the Golden Triangle Emergency Center at 3107 Edgar Brown in West Orange in reference to a gunshot victim at 10:42 p.m. on June 15. OPD officers met with West Orange PD officers who advised that the gunshot victim told them he had been shot while at 610 Burton (James Zay Roberts Apartments) in Orange. The victim, a 25-year-old male resident of Orange, suffered a gunshot wound that does not appear to be life-threatening.

The victim was interviewed by a detective and then released from the medical center's care after the bullet was removed. The investigation is ongoing.
