Police search for suspect in Port Arthur shooting

Police in Port Arthur are searching for the suspect or suspects in a shooting that reportedly gravely injured one person at the Mr. Giggles pool hall and night club over the weekend.

Port Arthur police report that PAPD officers responded to a call regarding shots fired outside the bar located in the Jefferson City Shopping Center at 3601 N. Twin City Highway at 4:19 a.m. on June 28. As officers approached, they observed a large crowd leaving the business's premises. Officers reportedly observed multiple vehicles displaying bullet holes, but no one was discovered injured at Mr. Giggles.

Approximately 15 minutes later, the Southeast Texas Medical Center called PAPD and told them there was a gunshot victim at the ER. The man was a 20-year-old Port Arthur resident and had multiple gunshot wounds to his elbow, abdomen and buttocks. The victim was transported via EMS to a trauma center for emergency surgery. He was conscious but in critical condition, PAPD reports.

PAPD's crime scene unit responded to the scene of the shooting to collect evidence, which is currently being examined. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. The suspect or suspects remain at-large.
