Police search for suspects in Nederland home invasion

A couple in Nederland was attacked and bound during a home invasion Sept. 3, Nederland police report, and the suspects are still on the lam.

According to a news release, officers with the Nederland Police Department responded to a call of a home invasion robbery in the 700 block of 9th street at approximately 1:26 p.m. Upon arrival to the scene, officers discovered a 70-year-old white male victim outside of the residence, who appeared to have been bound and physically assaulted. Inside the residence, officers located the male victim’s 59-year-old wife, who had also been bound and assaulted. 

Both victims stated that they were at their home when someone came to the front door. When the male victim answered the door he saw three white males. One of the males told him they were making a delivery. The victim stated at that time he asked his wife if she had ordered anything and she responded, "no." The male victim then stated that the suspects entered the residence and bound both victims with duct tape, also striking and causing injury to the couple. The suspects demanded money from the victims, but were then told that there was no money in the house. The invaders then went through the residence searching for money before leaving. 

Both victims were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital and are undergoing treatment at this time, police report. 

The suspects are described as three white males driving a white truck.
