Port Arthur baby hospitalized after formula poisoned

Port Arthur police are investigating poisoned formula that resulted in the hospitalization of a one year old infant in Port Arthur, PAPD Field Operations Lieutenant Jeremy Lloyd reported Dec. 4.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3:32 a.m., PAPD officers were called to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas about a poisoning of a one year old girl. Officers learned the mother had taken her to a friend's home the night before, where the baby was given a bottle that had apparently come into contact with a poisonous substance. She began to shake and cry.

The mother called 911, and the baby was transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. After stabilization, the baby was transferred to Texas Children's Hospital for further treatment and is currently in stable condition.
