Port Arthur drive-by shooting injures 17 year old boy

A 17 year old boy was injured in a drive by shooting on Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur, PAPD Sergeant Shawn Perron said in a release.

Port Arthur Police officers responded to St. Mary's hospital ER at 3600 Gates Boulevard in reference to a shooting victim on Friday, Nov. 25 at 1:35 a.m. They found a 17 year old male victim shot in the left hand upon arrival. The victim reported he was shot by a passing vehicle while walking the 5200 block of Gulfway Drive. He then stated that he ran to the Lakeview Palms Apartments nearby to call for help, according to the PAPD statement.

His injuries were reported as non life-threatening. PAPD officers were able to locate the crime scene and conduct a preliminary investigation. PAPD's Crime Scene Unit responded to take photographs and collect evidence.
