Port Arthur police search for drive-by shooters

Police in Port Arthur are searching for suspects in a weekend drive-by shooting, reports the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).

According to a news release from PAPD, officers responded to the 2100 block of 15th Street in reference to a shooting at about 2:40 a.m. on Jan. 23. Upon arrival, investigators spoke with a victim who told them he had been shot by unknown subjects in a car that was passing as he walked along the road on his way home. The man was able to provide a description of the vehicle to officers, but police were unable to find the suspect vehicle. 

PAPD reports that it appeared that the victim had been shot by two separate weapons, one of which was a shotgun. He was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries appeared not to be life-threatening.
