Shooting in Orange: police searching for suspects

Police in Orange are following up on leads and searching for a suspect in a shooting that injured a local man, reports Captain Robert Enmon of the Orange Police Department (OPD).

According to a new release from OPD, officers were dispatched to the intersection of 10th Street and Rein Avenue in Orange in reference to a person shot on March 8 at 12:08 p.m. Officers responded to the scene and located 24-year-old Centarius Chavis on the ground with a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder. Chavis was awake and responding to officers, according to Enmon. Acadian Ambulance arrived and transported Chavis to a local hospital in Beaumont. Chavis was later released from medical treatment. 

Several persons of interest were identified related to the shooting, reports OPD, and detectives are investigating. OPD asks that anyone with information related to the crime contact the OPD at (409) 883-1026 or (409) 883-1095.
