Shooting at Villa Main Apartments in Port Arthur

Port Arthur police were dispatched to Villa Main Apartment complex on Dec. 8 at 10:55 p.m due to reported gunfire.

Officers discovered a man and woman had a physical altercation with other people in the apartment parking lot. During the incident, a man pointed a handgun at the 911 caller and shot his car multiple times as he was trying to leave the scene, causing him to hit several other cars in the lot. The suspect fled the scene prior to officer's arrival.

While on scene investigating, officers received another call about a gunshot victim on Green Avenue. The victim received a glancing gunshot wound to his upper chest and was transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital for treatment. The victim admitted to being at Villa Main Apartments when he was shot, but could not give many details about what took place.

The PAPD ID division processed the crime scene. PAPD detectives are investigating this incident. On Dec 13, PAPD PIO LaRisa Carpenter reported that no arrests have been made.

"The victim wishes not to press charges and refused to provide information to investigators," Carpenter said in an email.
