Shootings plague Beaumont

Multiple shootings occurred the night of Friday, Aug. 24. Beaumont Police responded to three separate shootings, which left two injured. 

According to a press release from BPD, on Friday, August 24 at 5:24 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to Cleveland and Leight in reference to a victim of a shooting. When Officers arrived they located a victim suffering from gun shot wounds. Beaumont EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was said to have non-life threatening injuries. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model, silver, Chrysler 300 with the back windshield busted out.

Later that evening at about 9 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 4200 block of Winston Dr, in reference to shots fired. When Officers arrived in the area, they were flagged down about a victim of a shooting in the 3300 block of Bender. Investigation revealed that the suspect arrived at a residence on Bender looking for someone that “owed him money.” At some point, the suspect began firing shots from a handgun, a 58-year-old male, who was inside the residence was struck twice. Beaumont EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was said to have non-life threatening injuries.

At 9:30 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the Police Station located at 255 College, in reference to a victim who stated he had been shot at near Pecan and Porter. When Officers arrived, they learned that earlier in the evening, the victim was dropping an employee off at a game room on Porter Street. When the victim left the game room, a gold Honda Civic drove head on toward the victim’s vehicle. The victim stopped his vehicle and a black male exited the passenger side of the Honda Civic. The suspect shot at the victim several times. The victim was able to drive away from the location uninjured.

Detectives do not believe any of these incidents were random. Some victims did not want to cooperate with the investigation, however all three investigations are on going.
