Shots fired, alleged aggravated robbery on McFaddin Street

Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 9:42 p.m., Beaumont police responded to a report of gunshots in the 2800 block of McFaddin Street. The caller told emergency services that someone tried to rob him and may now be dead.

Officers arriving on scene found a 35-year-old Beaumont man with multiple gunshot wounds laying in the apartment parking lot on Sixth Street between McFaddin Street and North Street.

The alleged victim said the suspect approached him with a handgun while he was headed to his car in the parking lot. The complainant was armed and fired multiple rounds at the suspect.

The suspect was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital by Beaumont EMS with multiple gunshot wounds. Hospital staff advised the injuries were serious but not fatal, according to the statement.

Beaumont Police later discovered the suspect’s vehicle, a silver Dodge truck, was reported stolen from Westlake, Louisiana. Both guns used in the incident were seized as evidence.

The incident is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
