Silsbee crash leaves one dead, four injured

A young Silsbee man is dead as the result of a two-car collision on Sunday, April 20, DPS reports.

According to a news release, at approximately 8:50 a.m., a two vehicle crash on FM 418 just west of Silsbee resulted in the death of 18-year-old Jamarcus Myers.The driver of a 2001 Ford truck was traveling eastbound on FM 418 and passed another vehicle in a no passing zone, striking a 2008 Dodge truck head-on.The driver of the Ford truck, Myers, was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Simpson. The driver of the Dodge truck, 48-year-old Michael Thompson of Buna, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. The 3 other passengers in the Dodge truck were also transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries.This crash is still under investigation.
