Southeast Texan doing well on ‘American Idol’
Four contestants remain in Season 12 of “American Idol,” and one is from Southeast Texas — Kree Harrison of Woodville. If Harrison makes it through this week’s elimination round and is in the final three, a slew of events will be held Saturday, May 4, and expect the “American Idol” cameras to be in town for the homecoming concert and activities.
The homecoming events would begin at 8 a.m. with a press conference at the Wesley Center of Woodville United Methodist Church at 515 Walt Davis Drive.
At 10 a.m., a parade will be held in Woodville on Highway 190 beginning at Kelly Street and ending at Charlton Street.
Live entertainment will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Ford Arena in Beaumont with performances by Texas Backroads and Britt Godwin. Harrison will take the stage at 6 p.m.
The concert portion is free, but patrons must have a ticket to enter. Tickets will be distributed following the “American Idol” elimination show on Thursday night, May 2.
