Speed a factor in injury accident
A woman was sent to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with non-life-threatening injuries Monday, Oct. 1, after she lost control of her Dodge pickup at Interstate Highway 10 near W. Pine Street.
Police said they arrived on the scene at approximately 1:30 p.m. to find the woman disoriented.
The 70-year-old woman was unable to provide police with details of the accident after hitting her head and possibly suffering a broken leg, according to police.
Police said the woman was getting ready to enter the westbound onramp near Pine Street but was traveling too fast and lost control, striking a concrete pylon underneath Interstate Highway 10.
As the truck was loaded onto a wrecker, one could see extensive damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
It is unclear if any citations will be issued.
