Suspect attempts to steal bike at CITGO station, sustains injuries

A suspect attempted to steal a bike at a gas station in Port Arthur but suffered head injuries.

Port Arthur police officers received a 911 call about an assault in progress at the CITGO station on 1200 Gulfway Drive on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 12:13 a.m. They discovered an injured man in the parking lot, who had attempted to steal the bicycle.

The suspect is a 39 year old Port Arthur resident. He was transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital for his head injuries and is reported to be in stable but guarded condition.
