Port Arthur Police are looking for a gunman after a reported shooting near 440 Procter Street in downtown Friday, Oct. 28. Just before midnight, PAPD received a report of a shooting near Wellborn’s.

Officers located the crime scene and “numerous spent shell casings,” according to the release. PAPD’s Crime Scene Unit responded to photograph and collect evidence at the scene.

PAPD officers were unable to locate anyone with injuries at the scene, but a shooting victim arrived at the Medical Center ER in a private vehicle 45 minutes after the incident was reported.

The victim, a 24 year old black male Port Arthur resident, was treated for a gunshot wound to his upper torso, in the back. He is reported to be in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and the perpetrator is still at large. The incident is being investigated by the PAPD Criminal Investigations Division.
