Suspect wanted for aggravated robbery

Aggravated robbery suspect believed to be left-handed

Friday, May 29, at approximately 10:54 p.m., an individual armed with a sawed-off shotgun entered the Snappy’s (Price Wise Store #103) at 213 E. Highway 90 in China. The man pointed the shotgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register. He attempted to disguise his identity from the camera system by utilizing a green towel that was pulled down over his head to his shoulders and disguised his face. The robber was wearing a blue Nomex jumpsuit with light blue gloves. He might be left-handed because he held the shotgun in his left hand.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office believes the robber was familiar with the location as he attempted to avoid the camera system and was aware of the camera locations.  They also believe he has most likely shown this weapon to others.  The man is described as a heavy black male, approximately 5-feet-10 to 6 feet in height.

Anyone with information on this case or any other felony crime is asked to contact Crimestoppers at (409) 833-TIPS (8477). You may remain anonymous. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this individual.
