Three arrested in robbery of postal worker
Detectives have identified three juvenile suspects in the July 5 attempted robbery of a postal worker that occurred in the 2100 block of Ives Street, the Beaumont Police Department said in a press release.
Detectives obtained felony warrants for all three suspects and have arrested all three. A 16-year-old, a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old, all female, were booked into the Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Facility for a charge of attempted robbery, a third degree felony.
The juvenile suspects were identified through information provided by patrol officers. Those officers working the beat on the day of the robbery heard the description of the suspects and were able to develop the possible suspects through their personal knowledge of the neighborhood and through corroboration by area residents.
The investigation into this incident was a joint operation between the Beaumont Police Department and inspectors from the U.S. Postal Service.
