Three workers die after being electrocuted in Village Mills
Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Kountze Fire Department, and Acadian EMS were dispatched Aug 6, at 8:17 a.m., to the Streamline Facility, located at 23604 Highway 69 in Village Mills in reference to an electrocution, according to a press release. Three workers employed by a contractor were erecting a metal building at that location. The three were moving a metal scaffold from one location to another when the scaffold made contact with a live electric line. All three died at the scene. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. Judge T. J. Hall ordered autopsies for the three. Names are being withheld pending notification of all next of kin. Village Mills is about 10 miles north of Kountze on Highway 69.
