Touch-A-Truck, a community event offering children of all ages a chance to meet their community helpers and touch, climb, explore and ask questions about their favorite truck or vehicle, is this Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Beaumont Children’s Museum will have more than 25 vehicles for exploration, and the museum will be open with admission included, all for one price. General admission is $10 per person, with a $40 family maximum; member admission is $5 per person, with a $20 family maximum.

The museum plans to have police officers, United States Army personnel, engineers, forest rangers, ambulance drivers, the UPS man and more present at the event.

TAME (Texas Association of Minority Engineers), sponsored by BASF, will bring out its Trailblazer to lead children through a multitude of science experiments. And Neches River Adventures will be providing free boat tours throughout the day. The DuPont Science Superstars will be inside the museum demonstrating science experiments.

The Beaumont Children’s Museum is at 700 Main St., Beaumont. Organizers ask that those attending park at City Hall, the library, and in various parking lots throughout downtown. Main Street will be closed from IH-10, so plan to travel down College Street to get to the museum. Call (409) 347-7919 for more information.
