Train strikes man on tracks in Orange

An Orange resident apparently struck by a train suffered serious injuries Nov. 12, reports the Orange Police Department (OPD). 

According to a news release from OPD, dispatch received a call from the Union Pacific Railroad shortly after 1 a.m. on Nov. 12 reporting a train had struck an individual they said was lying on the railroad tracks. Officer arrived at the scene minutes later and discovered a 32-year-old man lying on the west side of the tracks with serious injuries. 

Acadian Ambulance and the Orange Fire Department First Responders were called out to the scene. The male, whose identity police are not releasing, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont. His condition is unknown.
