Travel trailer stolen in Mauriceville

Dakota travel trailer

Orange County investigators are searching for a travel trailer stolen out of the Mauriceville area April 2.

Criminal Investigator and Public Information Officer Janois Strause Grizzaffi reports that the Dakota travel trailer was parked near the intersection of Highway 62 and Highway 12 shortly after 3 p.m. when someone hooked it up to what appeared to be a dark-colored truck and drove away. Video footage from a neighboring business shows the trailer being pulled from the intersection. After the initial investigation, Orange County detectives believe the suspect or suspects traveled west on Hwy 12, taking a right on Woodridge Drive and crossing over to Texla Road (FM 2802).

Investigators are enlisting the public's help. Detectives ask that any residents with security cameras along the possible route check video footage for the trailer on April 2 between 3:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Anyone with video footage that coudl help or with knowledge about the theft is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office at (409) 883-2612.
