Two arrested, stolen weapons seized in Galveston County burglary racket

On Friday, June 2, at about 6 a.m., the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 5000 block of Edgewater Drive in Dickinson, Texas, Sheriff Henry Trochesset said in a release.

The Texas City PD, US Marshals and the District Attorney’s office assisted with the search warrant. A lengthy investigation of numerous thefts and burglaries that stretched from Galveston County to Houston and Mt. Belvieu resulted in several arrests and recovery of numerous weapons, guitars, tools, jewelry, narcotics and U.S. currency.

A total of thirty-four firearms were recovered including some high powered rifles. Ten of those weapons were confirmed stolen while the others are still being investigated.

The following people were arrested and charged for possession of narcotics:

Alejandro Cruz, 45, was arrested for several counts of possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $1,521,000.

Jose Sanchez, 32, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with a bond totaling $300,000.
