Two men arrested on narcotics charges

Chad Dubois and Carlos Valerio

Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force Investigators were conducting narcotics surveillance when they stopped a black Chevrolet truck near the area of Jimmy Johnson and Ninth Avenue in Port Arthur. The K-9 Narcotics Dog from Port Neches PD assisted on the traffic stop. After a positive alert to drugs, a search of the vehicle was conducted and drugs were found. Two male subjects, 37-year-old Chad Dubois of Port Arthur and 35-year-old Carlos Valerio of Beaumont, were arrested.

At the same time, Narcotics and SWAT Officers were executing a search warrant for a storage shed at Dubois’ home in the 7200 block of Royal Meadows in Port Arthur. The Port Neches K-9 responded to that location as well and discovered a 1/2 pound of meth inside a safe along with a handgun.

Dubois was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Valerio was charged with possession of marijuana.
