Two suspects still at large after game room robbery

Beaumont police officers responding to the Magic Touch Game Room at 3010 Washington Boulevard discovered the clerk was shot during an aggravated robbery Monday, Dec. 12.

According to a statement from BPD PIO Carol Riley, two males, possibly Hispanic, entered the game room shortly before 11 p.m. and put a dark handgun to the clerk’s head and began giving orders. One of the suspects kept watch over the clerk, the front of the business and seven customers while the other suspect tried to break into machines with a crow bar. The suspects became impatient and assaulted the clerk, dragging him around the room.

One of the suspects fired at least two shots and struck the clerk in the right leg. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The seven customers in the store did not call, stay to speak to officers or try to help the clerk.

The clerk was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital and taken to surgery.

Riley's statement describes the first suspect as a Hispanic male, 19 to 24 years of age, 5-foot-10, 180-190 pounds, wearing a black NY Yankees baseball cap, light colored hooded jacket, blue jeans, and black and white tennis shoes. The second suspect is a Hispanic male, 19 to 24 years of age, 5-foot-10, 200-210 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap with a red bill, blue jacket with possible Houston Texans emblem, red shirt and black pants.
