Update on the Yasin Jones homicide

Update on the Yasin Jones homicide

Update:

Beaumont Police have released an update on the Yasin Jones homicide, which took place Thursday June 7 at 5680 Concord.

After further investigation of the Jones homicide by Beaumont Police Detectives, it was discovered that there were several people present at the crime scene when the shooting occurred and detectives found it suspicious that no calls were made to 911 to request medical help for jones, while instead he was driven to the hospital in a “friend’s” vehicle. Though there were multiple witnesses to the crime, no witnesses came forward with information, however thanks to multiple tips from Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers, detectives were able to identify witnesses and seek them out for additional information.  So far in the investigation, detectives believe that jones was shot accidentally by one of his “friends” who was in the apartment with him at the time of the shooting and it is believed that the people went to great lengths to cover up the incident.

The investigation is still on going. If you have information about this case please contact the Crime stoppers of Southeast Texas at (409) 833-TIPS (8477).
