Vidor motorcyclist dies in accident with livestock

Aug. 3, at approximately 11 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was notified of a motorcycle crash on FM 2802 in Orange County. The crash occurred approximately three miles South of Vidor.

A 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on FM 2802 when it struck a black cow in the roadway.

The driver, Robert George Cahill, 48, of Vidor, was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Robby Eaves. Cahill was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The cow also died at the scene.
