Vidor police arrest man with 14 outstanding warrants

Police in Vidor arrested a man June 1 on 14 outstanding warrants from multiple jurisdictions after initially stopping him for a minor traffic violation, reports the Vidor Police Department. 

According to a report by Officer Steven Rivers, he was patrolling in the 1500 block of Main Street when he saw a vehicle with a headlight out traveling northbound. When Rivers stopped the car, a black and silver 1986 Chevy pickup truck, he spoke with driver who reportedly told the officer he had no driver's license. The man identified himself as 33-year-old Robert Eugene Reed of Silsbee.

Rivers ran a warrant check on Reed through police dispatch and discovered the man had a total of 14 warrants issued from Orange County, Bridge City and Vidor, including one with a $10,000 bond for possession of a controlled substance. Reed was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail.
