Vidor woman cited for intoxication in rollover near Silsbee

On July 15 at about 12:15 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a one vehicle rollover crash on US 96 in Hardin County, Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a release. The crash occurred approximately two miles north of Silsbee.

A 2003 Chevrolet passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on US 96. The vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right. In an attempt to get the vehicle back on the roadway, the driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to rollover several times before coming to rest.

The passenger of the vehicle, 34-year-old Joe David Scott, of Buna, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. Scott was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. At this time, there are no medical updates on Scott’s condition.

The driver, Bonnie Wallace, 31, of Vidor, was not injured in the crash.

During the crash investigation, Troopers observed several signs of intoxication exhibited by Bonnie Wallace. Wallace was placed under arrest for intoxication assault and was transported to the Hardin County Jail without incident.

This is an ongoing crash investigation and there are no further details to be released.
