Welcome Home Brother: Honoring our Vietnam Veterans
Starting Friday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Events Centre at 700 Crockett St. in Beaumont, the City of Beaumont and Vietnam Veterans of America Inc. - Chapter 292 are honoring Vietnam veterans. All proceeds benefit Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument.
Friday, Sep. 21, 6-8 p.m. - Veterans’ Reception & POW MIA Ceremony, Beaumont Event Centre
A veterans’ reception planned for Friday will honor all veterans and their families. It will be held at the new Event Centre in downtown Beaumont. The powerful and poignant POW/MIA ceremony will be conducted honoring those still missing. The event is free to veterans and their families. All others are encouraged to donate to the monument. Refreshments provided.
Saturday, Sept. 22, 9 a.m. – 25th Anniversary Celebration & Ceremony, Ben J. Rogers Regional Visitors Center
Vietnam Veterans of America Inc. Southeast Chapter 292 celebrate their 25th anniversary with a special ceremony at the Ben J. Rogers Regional Visitors Center.
Saturday, Sept. 22, 10:30 a.m. – Veterans Memorial Motorcycle Ride, Ben J. Rogers Regional Visitors Center
The ride will honor POW/MIA’s and veterans of all wars. Cowboy Harley Davidson will host the after party with lunch provided by Saltgrass Steakhouse. There will be entertainment, drinks and door prizes. Pre-registration forms available at area motorcycle dealers and shops or on the Welcome Home Brother Weekend Facebook page. Register on-site the day of the event from 8-9 am and immediately following the ceremony. Bikes line-up at 10:30 a.m. Cost of the ride is $20 for driver and $20 for passenger.

Saturday, Sept. 22, 7 pm – Heroes Dinner, Beaumont Civic Center
Enjoy dinner with true American heroes – Vietnam veterans from throughout Southeast Texas. Featured guests at the dinner are artist Duke Sundt with the scale model of the monument, and guest speaker Col. Albert J. Nahas, author of recently released book “Warriors Remembered, Vietnam Veterans – Welcome Home.”
