Wet first weekend to New Orleans Jazz Fest

Wet first weekend to New Orleans Jazz Fest

The weather April 26-28 made for a soggy first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, more commonly known as Jazz Fest, but festivalgoers still managed to have a good time. Here’s hoping for beautifully cool and sunny weather right here in Beaumont for the Jazz & Blues Fest on Saturday, May 18, at Crockett Street Entertainment District. With the purchase of one $10 ticket, guests can hear 14 different bands all in one area. Funds raised go to support the Museum of the Gulf Coast. In addition to headliner Barbara Lynn, the Jazz & Blues Fest will feature The Lisa Marshall Band, Jimmy Simmons Band, Lil Brian and Zydeco Blues, Dean James, Shawn Pittman The Flava Band, Ashlynn Ivy, Jazz Innovators, The Rob White Band, Andrew Kelly Borel, Virginia Martinez, Book of Days, 3 Car Garage and Silas Feemster. Gates will open at 2 p.m., and guests should bring their lawn chairs.
