Woman arrested in Beaumont shooting

Olivia Goodman, a 37-year-old Beaumont woman was arrested and transported to Jefferson County Jail after a witness identified her for the shooting of a 39-year-old Beaumont man Friday, Aug. 10. 

At 3:34 a.m. Beaumont police officers responded to Pointe North Apartments at 3710 Magnolia in reference to a victim of a shooting. The officers located the victim, who had a gunshot wound on the right side of his torso, in front of apartment 2102. The BPD officers had information that children were inside the apartment with Goodman while they attempted to contact her after the witness stated that she was inside the apartment. A SWAT call-out was initiated after attempts to contact Goodman failed. Some time later Goodman’s children, aged 7 and 11, exited the apartment. SWAT entered and searched the apartment, where officers located a gun and drugs. At that time Goodman arrived at the station and was questioned by detectives. 

The victim was transported by EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he was rushed into surgery and listed in critical condition. He is now stable.

CPS responded and took custody of the children

Goodman is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
