Woman charged with hiding triple homicide suspect

Wednesday, March 19, around noon, Beaumont Police Detective Division obtained an arrest warrant for Jornae Tranise Johnson, a 24-year-old woman from Port Arthur, for hindering apprehension. In a BPD press release, Detectives gathered information and discovered Johnson hindered the apprehension of Joe Hawkins, suspect in the triple homicide and aggravated assault on Sunday, March 16. Johnson was arrested in the 200 block of College Street. She was transported to Jefferson County Jail and booked in. Her bond was set at $100,000 and she has bonded out of jail.
