Woman stabs boyfriend in wheelchair

A woman in Orange reportedly stabbed her boyfriend, who was in  wheelchair at the time, when she became angry with him over the weekend, according to a report from the Orange Police Department.

Officer Byrun Perry reports that he was dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of Gans Street in Orange at about 8:26 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, in reference to a stabbing. The 69-year-old male victim told police that while he was seated in his wheelchair in the kitchen of his residence, his girlfriend, 45-year-old Kimberly Ann Ainsworth of Bridge City, became angry with him for an "unknown reason." Then, he reports, she got up from her seat, retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him twice, once in the front left deltoid and once in the inner portion of his left upper arm.

The victim's injuries were non life-threatening. Ainsworth was arrested for felony aggravated assault family violence and was transported to the Orange County Jail.

Police are still investigating the incident.
