Deepening project one step closer to reality

The Assistant Secretary of the Army (Civil Works) this week signed the Chief of Engineers Report on the Channel Improvement Project for the Sabine-Neches Waterway in Jefferson County, Texas, approving transmission of the project to the U.S. Congress for authorization and funding.

Investigators look for clues as to weekend blaze

City of Orange Deputy Fire Chief/EMC Jerry Ziller said the city’s fire marshal is looking for tips as to what or who started a blaze in the 300 block of Schley that consumed a vacant home.

DuPont refinery leaks toxic chemical sending workers to the hospital

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has confirmed that the Dupont refinery located on Twin City Highway reported a chemical leak this morning (Nov. 3) at 10:25, indicating that 1,000 pounds of aniline were released, but that the leak has since been stopped and that section of the plant has been both evacuated and shut down, according to Heather Feldman, executive director for the Beaumont branch of the TCEQ.

Christmas – a morning filled with opening presents and playing with the newfound toys and gadgets  - are happy times from many a childhood memories. Hardin County Man Sentenced for Child Pornography Violations

BEAUMONT, TX—A 29-year-old Lumberton, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Skeletal remains found in Labelle

Jefferson County officials are reporting the skeletal remains found on a rancher's property in Labelle could are in close proximity to where they were searching for a missing in teen in August and may belong to Sharon West.

FBI Searching for “Rub-a-Dub Robber”

A woman wearing a purple shower cap and pajamas robbed a teller at gunpoint this morning at the Lonestar Bank, located at 7630 Highway 6 in Houston, Texas. Members of the Houston FBI’s Bank Robbery Task Force need your help in locating her. She’s been dubbed the “Rub-a-Dub Robber” because of the unusual attire she wore during the robbery.
