On September 19, 2015, an Explorer Competition was held at North Shore High School in Harris County, in which at least 14 different agencies and 28 teams competed. Beaumont Police Explorers Post #730 participated and brought back 9 team trophies and 3 individual trophies.

The Crime Stoppers Larry Beaulieu Scholarship Presentation Ceremony will be this Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Beaumont Police Station training room. 

The scholarship was created to support the education and development of sons and daughters of area law enforcement officers and to honor the visionary leadership of the agency's founding chairman, Mr. Larry Beaulieu.

DPS Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash in Orange County that injured at least one person, reports DPS Trooper Stephanie Davis.

On Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 8:26 p.m., Beaumont Police Department responded to an activated panic alarm at M&D Market.

According to a press release, the clerk who activated the alarm told responding officers he was attacked and robbed by one Hispanic male and three black males. Two of the black males acted as lookouts while one black male and the Hispanic male initiated the debacle.

A family dispute in Orange turned deadly when one of two brothers was fatally stabbed by his stepfather Sept. 20, reports the Orange Police Department. According to OPD Captain Cliff Hargrave, 30-year-old Orange resident Jamey Myers was killed during the altercation on Sunday.

A two-vehicle collision in Beaumont's west end on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 resulted in the death of a Port Arthur resident.

According to a press release from the City of Beaumont, just before 11 p.m. Friday, Beaumont PD officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Major Drive and Highway 105. Upon arrival, it is reported two white Ford F-150 trucks were resting against the traffic light pole in the intersection.

Matt Block, managing attorney with the Child Support Division's Beaumont office, was recognized by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Thursday at the Statewide Child Support Managers' Conference in Fort Worth. Block was named "Managing Attorney of the Year" for his commitment and dedication to Texas children. The Attorney General's Child Support Division offers assistance to families that includes locating absent parents, establishing paternity and collecting and distributing child support payments.
