Demetrius Bernard Glenn

According to the Jefferson County District Attorney's office, Demetrius Bernard Glenn, 22, of Port Arthur pled guilty to murder on Monday, November 9, 2015, stemming from a June 6, 2013 double homicide in Port Arthur. In accordance with a plea agreement reached with prosecutors, Glenn was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

AUSTIN— The mid-October skies in Smithville were cloaked by a thick smoke after a wildfire ignited near Buescher and Bastrop State Parks. Now that the final embers have been extinguished, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department staff have completed initial assessments of the wildfire impacts on park land.

Update: The West Orange-Stark High School coach reportedly driving the vehicle that claimed the lives of 25-year-old Ava Lewis and six-year-old daughter Lamya Newhouse, Carl Broussard, 53, of Vinton, resigned from his position at the school, reports WO-S representatives.
